How do you approach culture and diversity? I feel that I might be judged and not understood,

Clemensy are open to working with clients from diverse backgrounds. The manager of Clemensy Counselling has vast experience working within segments of the community who are often hesitant towards accessing mental health services. Examples include faith based, bereavement and young people. Simultaneously, we believe it is important not to hold assumptions about any group we have or have not worked with.

We believe it is important to address cultural differences, to ensure the counsellor truly immerses themselves within YOUR worldview rather than JUDGE you against the counsellor’s worldview.

Nevertheless, we believe it is important to understand that there is diversity within subsections of each community. We believe it is important not to confuse cultural awareness with labelling. We are conscious of the underlying influences of race, ethnicity, nationality, language and beliefs. Clemensy ensure all counsellor hold the same cultural ethos to us.

We offer Counselling in the following languages:

  • English- Fluent
  • Punjabi- Moderate
  • Urdu -Basic
