Clemensy Counselling favour an integrative orientation when using psychotherapeutic intervention. This means that we mould our tools of practise around you, offering a client centred delivery. We believe in delivering a tailored service to suit each unique individual who approaches our service. Our integrative model includes:
Attachment Theory/Psychodynamic Theory
An approach which focuses upon your early life experiences with your primary caregiver(s) within a compassionate manner, exploring your interactions, beliefs and behaviour around these years. This approach also offers self-reflection as an adult, enabling both counsellor and client to explore the resonating impact of early life experiences upon beliefs of the self, others and the world.
.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
A popular approach, CBT focuses upon current forms of thinking, thoughts and belief. Collectively, I actively work with the client to identify thoughts and underlying beliefs, focusing upon identifying distorted thinking. Cognitive Behavioural therapy allows clients to understand, prepare and applying rational forms of thinking within their life.
Person Centred Approach
Based upon the early work of Carl Rogers, Person centred approach (PCA) holds the belief that each human being has an innate capacity of potential. The PCA offers unconditional positive regard, empathy and congruence. The Rogerian approach also favours a client centred focus, allowing clients to reap the rewards of gaining control over important aspects of their life.
Islamically informed Counselling
Based upon Islamic principles, Islamically informed Counselling welcomes Muslims clients belief systems into the space. Your understanding of Allah, Islam and the conflict at times with your ideal self and your current self are welcomed, explored, acknowledged challenged and reframed. Our understanding comes from multiple training courses which are bespoke training courses, residential retreats, masterclasses as well countless client hours with Muslim clients.
